Automation does the magic

Innovation & automation. That’s what we do at DECA to further enhance the quality of our products, e.g. with camera inspections and stacking sensors. It is how we create added value for you.

Creating perfection in plastic packaging - that’s what drives DECA, constantly. Even more and better inspections, eliminating errors and responding faster to manufacturing problems. You name it, we do it, with automation.

How exactly? We made additional investments in our production to further enhance the quality of the products we deliver. We equipped our machines with camera sensors to perform a final inspection of each finished product before they are automatically sorted and packaged.

It is an in-house development by our automation department, which is why it is fully aligned with DECA processes and products. Work is ongoing as we further develop our DECA range to incorporate variety and innovation. Currently, over half of our machines have been upgraded with this development, and we are continuing to expand. The first series we successfully tested was the TP95, our round pots with safety closure. And those immediately acquired the X-factor.

Cameras and robots as part of our automated manufacturing process are the result of years of dedicated research. Camera inspections are a real added value. We can respond much faster to any quality issues. We combat production waste and this approach reduces the chances of faulty products being delivered to our customers. With automatic packaging, we improve efficiency.

Packaging monitoring by cameras & robots

The camera sensors check finished products in terms of colour and physical defects, e.g. at the seal and snap edges. Camera inspection also proves its worth for products with IML. From label recognition and 'is the right label on the jar' to checking label position and more technical issues... it’s quite useful to have an extra pair of camera eyes.

Currently, most of our IML machines run with camera inspection. In the future, we will also equip the rest of the machinery with camera and stacking sensors.
