Design & brand promise - an interview with our CEO

Design & brand promise - an interview with our CEO

“Packed to Impact” – that’s our DNA. It not only refers to the quality of our food packaging products, but also reflects our eagerness to impress, with designs, innovation and the latest trends. It’s our way of positioning our brand as the most suitable and sustainable choice. In an interview with Otto Hofstetter, DECA CEO Patrik De Cat talks about the importance of design and sustainability in all aspects of our corporate culture.

After the twin crisis of Covid and soaring energy prices, DECA is now back on track and intends to go full steam ahead towards mono-materials, recyclability and weight reduction. That’s what our customers want, and what we can offer.

Family business vibe

The synergy with Otto Hofstetter, our supplier of injection moulding machines, was clear right from the start. Swiss quality combined with the flexibility of a family-run business is a definite plus. Both our companies have an open communication culture and highly value a positive exchange of ideas, including short information paths and transparent decision-making processes. Read all about it in the interview.

International reach & circularity aim

With sales in 37 countries worldwide, DECA is still looking for organic growth with a further potential of reducing our carbon footprint. Our ability to make plastic a sustainable solution, has made us an international favourite for food packaging products.

Patrik also talks about how DECA intends to contribute to a circular economy. Essentially, polypropylene is a type of plastic which already has a favourable environmental profile compared to alternative materials. Enhancing the circular economy and promoting recycling can contribute to minimising the ecological impact of our products and processes. By prioritising the reduction of our company's carbon footprint, we can achieve a significant milestone. That’s what true pioneers do.
